Oi! Tonbo was written by Ken Kawasaki and illustrated by Yū Furusawa. It was originally launched in 2014 in the Weekly Gold Digest magazine, which is a golfing magazine published by Golf Digest Sha Co. Ltd.

The story of the manga is about a professional golfer who was disqualified because of a certain incident. He then steps away from the limelight and moves to Tokara Islands. There, he discovers a girl named Tonbo, who seems to have a natural talent for golf.

Although Tonbo seems to be a similar character to Eve in Birdie Wing, this seems to be a little closer to the Hollywood classic Happy Gilmore. This could turn out to be a fun watch if they keep the animation in check. Those precise shots need to be paced well so we can follow.
