The first season of The Fire Hunter premiered on January 14, 2023, and ran for ten episodes on the premium subscription channel WOWOW. Crunchyroll is also streaming the series.
Junji Nishimura directed the first season and Signal.MD handled the animation. Mamoru Oshii penned and supervised the scripts.
Rieko Hinata launched the light novels in December 2018. The series ended with the fourth volume in September 2020. A side-story volume was also released in December 2021.
Considering there are four volumes and a side story volume, the second season would most likely be the final season. The first two canon volumes have been covered, and just the same amount is left to be adapted.

The Fire Hunter or Hikari no Ou is a novel series by Rieko Hinata. The series first debuted in 2018 and ended in 2020. Holp Shuppan published the four main volumes. A side-story volume was also published in December 2021.
