DC’s superhero series Titans is set to make its return with the third season in August 2021. The upcoming season will premiere on HBO Max.
The show’s official Instagram account posted a video with the cast members making the big announcement.
Initially scheduled for release in late 2020, production was delayed by COVID-19, and the release date had to be pushed back.
It was confirmed in August 2020 that Titans would be moving to HBO Max. DC recently decided to move all of their original shows on the DC Universe streaming platform over to HBO Max, making them more accessible. This included shows like Titans, Doom Patrol, Stargirl, Young Justice, and Harley Quinn.
Season 3 of Titans will see the return of Brenton Thwaites as Nightwing, Anna Diop as Starfire, Ryan Potter as Gar Logan, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove, Chelsea Zhang as Rose Wilson, and Joshua Orpin as Conner Kent.
In the new season, we’ll see the Titans reunite in Gotham City, where they will face new dangers. Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that Vincent Kartheiser will be playing the villain Dr. Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow. Jay Lycurgo will debut as Tim Drake, with Sharon Ferguson as Queen Luand’r.
In an interview with Collider, Ritchson called the new season the best one yet.
“Show shows are very big, and this is one of those shows that’s very big. It’s a huge cast. It’s a huge property. There are a million different ways to tell the story, and it sometimes takes a season or two to figure out who to focus on and what exactly is driving this thing.”
Alan Ritchson
“They’ve done a really good job. All of the seasons have been good, but there’s an excellence to this because everybody has figured out what we wanna focus on and who we wanna tell the story through. It’s just a little more focused than it has been, and it’s working really well. It’s the best season yet, by far.”
