3. Episode 8 Recap
In Episode 8, Yano finds out that Kakihana was faking his financial status all this time. Not only that, he is drowning in high debts with nothing except an expensive engagement ring for Ichimura.
Yano and his men torture the monkey and beat him so badly that hardly anyone can recognize him in this condition. Even in such a miserable state, he is looking for Ichimura, the girl he wants to marry.
Meanwhile, Ichimura tells Yamamoto that she doesn’t want to continue this fraud business any longer. The manager gets disappointed at her certain change of mind and calls for Odokawa to escort them to Yano’s hide-out.
Odokawa was with Dobut when he recieved the call. He asks Odokawa to charge 1 billion yens for the dashcam video footage. It’s an effective move to check if Yamamoto is really related to Yano.
Odokawa does as he was said. To his surprise, Yamamoto considers the offer of paying this ridiculous amount for the dashcam clip. He leaves the taxi, assuring that he will contact again.
After that, Odokawa goes back to Dobu’s place to discuss their upcoming plans. He records the entire conversation and sends it to little Daimon as proof that his older brother is involved with Dobu.
Yano needs to get 1 billion yen, which makes Odokawa fear that they may target Imai for his 1-billion-yen lottery ticket. Can Odokawa save Imai and Kakihana at the same time? We are looking forward to the next episode to find that out.

Odd Taxi is an original Japanese anime series produced by OLM, Inc. and P.I.C.S.. The series aired in Japan on April 6, 2021.
Odokawa is a taxi driver who lives an ordinary life and as a slightly eccentric stranger who has no relatives nor any relations with other people, Odokawa’s hobby is listening to Rakugo on the radio before going to bed.
Although, he does have a conversion with his customers – Kabasawa, a college student who wants a buzz, Shirakawa, a nurse who’s hiding something, comedian group Homo Sapiens, who isn’t selling well, and the city hoodlum Dobu.
The conversations with these people, which should not have meant much, lead to a girl who disappeared.
