1. Episode 4 Preview and Speculation
Episode 4 is titled “Tanaka’s Revolution.” In the preview video, we see Tanaka working hard in his office. He confronts Shigaki of the homo sapiens on his way back home.
The preview video starts with the phrase, “It started four years.” This gives us a clear hint that much of Episode 4 will comprise of flashbacks.
Coming to the school girl’s kidnapping case, Dobu asked Odokawa to inform him if anyone comes searching for his dashcam footage.
I noticed Shirakawa mentioning videos of land-scape from a fixed-point camera. There’s a slim probability that she is after the dashcam footage,
She is interested in a middle-aged taxi driver who is in no way similar to her felt suspicious from the very first day. I wonder if Odokawa feels the same way.

3. Episode 3 Recap
In Episode 3, Dobu gets into Odokawa’s taxi with a revolver pointed at him. However, Odokawa stays surprisingly calm even in such an intense situation.
The conversation between Dobu and Odokawa clarifies many things regarding the kidnapping case in Narima. Dobu bluntly says that he is in no way involved in the kidnapping case.
We get to know that the girl who got kidnapped is Don-san’s daughter. They had to take back the F.I.R. because a second hand confirmed that the girl is safe.
Dobu suspects that his junior named Yano must have got the girl kidnapped. He asks Odokawa to inform him immediately if anyone comes searching for his dashcam recording.
Odokawa initially rejects the idea of helping a most-wanted criminal. He neither has greed for money nor fear for life, so Dobu threatens to harm Shirakawa to force him to cooperate.
Later, Odokawa and Shirakawa meet for their long-awaited date, where he warns her to stay away from him since he got involved with some dangerous people.
Surprisingly, Shirakawa seems to have endless faith in her make-shift martial arts skill and refuses to give up on him. Meanwhile, Kakihana is dating another suspicious girl.
We are still in the dark about what’s going to happen. I love how even small details are somehow connected to the case, and I can’t wait for Episode 4 to further elaborate on the situation.

Odd Taxi is an original Japanese anime series produced by OLM, Inc. and P.I.C.S.. The series aired in Japan on April 6, 2021.
Odokawa is a taxi driver who lives an ordinary life and as a slightly eccentric stranger who has no relatives nor any relations with other people, Odokawa’s hobby is listening to Rakugo on the radio before going to bed.
Although, he does have a conversion with his customers – Kabasawa, a college student who wants a buzz, Shirakawa, a nurse who’s hiding something, comedian group Homo Sapiens, who isn’t selling well, and the city hoodlum Dobu.
The conversations with these people, which should not have meant much, lead to a girl who disappeared.
