As the world reels from an acute chip shortage and people are having difficulty getting their hands on required computer components, companies such as AMD and NVIDIA are forging ahead with putting out new products.
There are already rumors about NVIDIA working on releasing their next generation of GPUs, and, of course, AMD is not going to be left behind. Details about the Red team’s upcoming graphics card, along with a potential release date, have surfaced online.
This comes from a Videocardz report which states that the upcoming AMD RX 6600 should arrive by October. The report says that we should expect reviews by October 13th, which means we can expect a launch sometime after that date. The report mentions that the samples will likely be sent out in the middle of the week.
We don’t have any confirmed release date from the official sources, but an embargo has been put into effect against releasing information such as benchmark tests or performance until 9 am EDT on October 13th.
One thing that has been confirmed, according to the source, is the specs of the upcoming GPU. A leak earlier this year stated that both AMD RX 6600 and the 6600 XT would ship with 8GB of GDDR6. Videocardz has confirmed that this is the official RAM capacity but has also stated that 4GB and 6GB variants have not been listed.

Currently, there are two notable names in the graphics cards market: AMD and NVIDIA. However, Intel has recently announced that they would be releasing their own line of GPUs, with the first model labeled as Alchemist, sometime next year.
The company has made dedicated graphics for several years, but Alchemist is going to be the first in a series of third-party products that Intel hopes will go toe-to-toe against NVIDIA and AMD.
While AMD and NVIDIA are eager to release more cards, availability and prices are set to worsen, even though trends had shown them stabilizing off late. Until the shortage is dealt with, PC gamers and users will have to wait a while before getting their hands on a quality graphics card.
