Ever since Disney+ announced it’d be coming out with a bunch of spinoff Star Wars shows, fans of the franchise have not been able to rest. Among them is Obi-Wan Kenobi, an upcoming series that will follow the legendary Jedi Master looking over a young Luke Skywalker in Tatooine.
Now, with the release of a new image, it’s likely that Obi-Wan could go through some transformation. Ewan McGregor, who will be reprising his role, flexed his biceps in a leaked image from Bespin Bulletin’s Instagram account. Seemingly having posed for the picture in a gym, the account added a caption, “Welcome to the gun show,” hinting at the speculation surrounding the upcoming series, about which not much has been leaked. Check out the image here:
As of now, the only information on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series revolves around the plot and the cast. Alongside McGregor, Hayden Christensen has also been confirmed to be returning to the franchise for his infamous role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
There has been no news about filming yet. The initial schedule for filming was reported to begin in March this year. However, later reports stated that filming would be moved ahead to January, and then finally, it was announced it’d start in the spring, as planned before.
But, since having been announced in 2019, there is still much speculation about the series. After the success of The Mandalorian, TV seemed like an excellent medium to keep the franchise alive.
Nonetheless, McGregor’s new transformation has left many confused, as well. As a Jedi warrior, having brute force is irrelevant, but otherwise, the actor sure does seem fit enough to begin filming.
In other news, many have also theorized that perhaps the bulky training could be for his other upcoming venture. McGregor, who has been cast in Marc Foster’s The Cow, will be playing the role of a World War II soldier. The movie, which still hasn’t entered production, could also be the reason behind McGregor’s new look.
Be that as it may, Obi-Wan Kenobi is definitely one to look out for!
