NVIDIA faced a declining sale of the RTX 30 series processors as buyers were hesitant to purchase them, given the excessive options and high prices. Several users even sold off their old RTX 30 cards to make space for a better alternative.
Benchlife reported that NVIDIA would officially cut down on prices for GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs.
However, the price cut will only be effective for high-end cards, and the prices for the cheaper cards will stay the same.
The RTX 3090 Ti will now cost $1499 instead of the earlier MSRP of $1999, i.e., a 25% discount. Similarly, the RTX 3090 is listed for $1299, about $200 less than the official MSRP. The RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3080 12 GB cards will also be sold at discounted prices.
Marketplaces such as Newegg, BestBuy, and EVGA have already listed the revised prices except for a few exceptions.
Newegg
The RTX 3090 Ti, RTX 3090, and RTX 3080 Ti all show new prices, but the price for RTX 3080 has not been reduced yet.
EVGA
The US store now displays all the models with discounts. The RTX 3080 12 GB retails for $799, whereas the 10 GB variant is listed for $860.
BestBuy
BestBuy is the official seller of NVIDIA Founders Edition cards in the US. However, only the RTX 3090 Ti model has a revised price of $1599, which is more than the new MSRP.
The new prices should be effective this week. However, there is no information on when exactly NVIDIA will lower the costs on their official website. The company is determined to clear stocks given China’s chaotic market scene and make way for the upcoming RTX 40 series, launching around late September or early October this year.
