Non Non Biyori Season 3 Receives Exclusive New Episode And Spin-off

Non Non Biyori, the pioneer of the “cute girls doing cute things” genre, is back to trailblaze the anime industry.

During the Sunday special event, “Nyanpasu Matsuri Nonstop Nanon!,” a new original video anime (OVA) was announced alongside mangaka Atto’s spin-off series Non Non Biyori Remember.

The OVA will serve as the 13th episode of the anime’s season 3 – Non Non Biyori Nonstop.

Currently, Non Non Biyori Remember is being published through Kodakawa’s subsidiary Monthly Comic Alive magazine.

The official website has stated that further details about the sale of the book and OVA will be made available at a later date. 

The spin-off manga story will be a prequel of a sort, following Kaede Kagayama and her ups and downs with babysitting Renge. At the same time, for the OVA, we can expect a return to the countryside of Asahigaoka. 

Though I’m not too fond of the fact that the final episode of such a beloved series is exclusively available on the home video, even months after the end of season 3.

Nevertheless, the franchise is still going strong, probably due to such exclusive deals that bring in the money. 

Additionally, the official sources also announced that all four volumes of Non Non Biyori third season are available on Blu-ray and DVD format at $90 and $80 per volume, respectively. Every volume includes various benefits such as:

The OVA will be a wonderful collection for dedicated fans if they can grab a copy fast enough! Meanwhile, the spin-off manga is a sure hit with many manga fans.

About Non Non Biyori

The manga was penned and illustrated by Atto, who launched it in the monthly Comic Alive magazine by Kadokawa in 2009. Seven Seas Entertainment is handling the English version of the manga.

Even though Asahigaoka may look like the boring countryside, no day in the village can be considered dull because of 5 students (of varying ages) who occupy the only class of the only school there.

The countryside is 20 minutes away from the nearest bookstore where a certain magazine comes out of Wednesdays instead of Mondays.

Even the nearest video rental store is ten stations away. Hotaru Ichiro transfers to a fifth-grader from Tokyo and starts to get used to the slow country life.

How she adjusts and makes friends with her fellow schoolmates, Natsumi, Komari, Renge, and Suguru is worth a watch.
