Instead of quoting his work or naming a character after him, Isekai Shikkaku takes it up a notch by making Osamu the protagonist. Famous for his suicidal tendencies, the story starts with the author trying to drown himself with his lover.

Right when Osamu is about to jump into the river, truck-kun strikes and sends him to another world. Dazai is informed that he’s the chosen hero who’ll save the world of Zauberberg from the darkness.
However, the literary master is least interested in the hero gig and only wishes to die, which shocks the other world’s guide, Annette. Seeing Dazai swallow sleeping pills, Annette is forced to purify him of the poison, much to his chagrin.
After checking his power levels, Annette realizes that Dazai is extremely weak and won’t be able to survive in this world. She tells him that his summoning must be a mistake and he’s not qualified to become a hero.
That made Dazai’s work easier as he was just looking for a place to die. In a shocking turn of events, the author discovers that he has a unique power of poison that can kill anything. He sets out to become an author and find his lover Satchan in this world.
Isekai Shikkaku is a unique and hilarious take on Japanese literature and the isekai genre.
None of us want to see another nerd or corporate slave become a hero of some magical world, so I guess we’re all waiting on this one.

No Longer Allowed in Another World (Isekai Shikkaku), also known as No Longer Human…In Another World is a manga series written by Hiroshi Noda and illustrated by Takahiro Wakamatsu. It began serialization on Shogakukan’s Yawaraka Spirits website in October 2019 and has a TV anime adaptation under production.
