If a game that was launched in 2007 tortured every PC out there, it’s diabolical to think what its remastered version can do to software and hardware.
That game is Crysis. Even the finest of systems threw the towel when it came to running this first-person shooter. By far, it is the most challenging game for a PC to run.
The game was so demanding that the players made it a meme. Anytime technological advancements were made, the internet was spammed with “Can It Run Crysis?” questions.
When the remastered variant of Crysis was being rolled out, it was revealed that “Can It Run Crysis?” would be the highest setting of the game. Even though it’s a 13-year-old meme, it still lives!
However, believe me, as hilarious as the name of this highest performance option may seem to you, your PC system would be wholly tormented.
Crysis Remastered will house in-depth software ray tracing along with effectively swift performance owing to its hardware improvements.
Furthermore, it’s compatibility goes up to 8K screens.
Therefore, I, for one, guarantee that players will get lost in the heavenly graphical and visual elements of the game.
Now, lets come back to reality and face a little heartbreak.
Steffen Halbig, Crysis Remastered Project Lead, went on to claim that no existing graphic card is fit for running the game at 30fps on its highest setting.
Basically what Halbig said is that every system will kneel before Crysis once again.
“We have a RTX 2080Ti in the office. At home, I have a Titan RTX and I overclocked it a little bit, but still, 30fps in 4K is not possible for stable play in Can It Run Crysis mode. You can have lower ray tracing options or you need to go with lower resolution.”

But where there’s a will, there’s a way, right?
Luckily, Nvidia’s got our back. Its GeForce RTX 3080 is the “ultimate” graphic card. Fueled by Ampere, if anything can run Crysis on its peak mode, its this piece of art!
Thus, once again the life-saving YouTube channel, Linus Tech Tips came to our rescue and helped in clearing the uncertainty surrounding Crysis Remastered.
The channel took the responsibility of running the “Can it Run Crysis?” setting by utilizing RTX 3080 on 4K resolution.
Unfortunately, the results were below par. Operating at 25 to 32fps, the GPU, as one can imagine, was knackered. Hence, the entire gameplay was full of stuttering, leading to immense frustration.
Therefore, for the foreseeable future, it’s better that one bids farewell to playing Crysis Remastered’s highest setting on 35fps or above.
Crysis Remastered has been released today, 18th September. One can buy it for platforms like PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
About Crysis Remastered
Developed and published by Crytek, Crysis Remastered is a first-person shooting game that is now released for platforms like PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The plot takes users to a fictional North Korean Island which has been consumed by intergalactic species. Along with a wide selection of weapons, a Nanosuit will also be equipped by gamers.
This suit holds the power of making the playing character more nimble and strong. Thus, in this world of sandbox, gamers are meant to rely on brawn along with their brains to overcome the menace posed by the alien race.
