Summary
- Nintendo is offering a free 14-day Switch Online subscription service trial.
- This comes as a part of the celebrations for Mario Day, which is celebrated on March 10th every year.
- In addition to this, announcements on the Super Mario front are being expected by the fans.
As reported by industry insiders, Nintendo Switch 2 has been rumored to be released in 2025 with an 8-inch LED screen. However, with no concrete release date yet, Nintendo is currently focusing on the current generation of the Nintendo Switch.
On the eve of Mario Day on March 10th, Nintendo is offering a 14-day free trial of Switch Online’s Basic Membership. Players can avail of the offer by grabbing a 14-day trial code from the MyNintendo page.
Players can enjoy the whole library of NES, SNES, and Game Boy titles using this trial code. This is excellent news for those who want to try out the subscription-based platform before committing to a proper long-term monthly subscription.
Players must head to the MyNIntendo page and click on the Redeem Button to get the trial code to claim the offer. It must be kept in mind that codes are being handed out only till 11:59 PM PT on March 17th, 2024.
After this, players must enter this code into the Nintendo eShop on Switch or Desktop. Again, this task must be performed by 11:59 PM PT on March 20th, 2024.
On the surface, the Mario franchise benefits from this since it is being done in the spirit of Mario Day. However, Nintendo benefits from this in more ways than one.
With additions like Golden Sun games, 2024 promises to be a big year for JRPGs, especially on Nintendo Switch online. Given that Nintendo cracks down on every possible third party, trying to emulate the older consoles, a subscription that allows players to play the nostalgic old titles becomes an eye-candy for most.
Veterans of the Nintendo consoles might remember developers Rare. Microsoft has acquired Rare, allowing a fresh selection of titles in the Nintendo Switch Online library.
March 10th promises other big announcements regarding Super Mario as well. The significant speculation suggests that Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will be revealed. Fans of the Mario franchise will get to know soon just a few days later on March 10th.
