Executive producer Seth Rogen reveals news on the production of The Boys Presents: Diabolical season 2. The animated anthology series is set in alternate realities that depict the actual colors of Vought International.
The cartoon series became a hit as soon as it hit the small screens and has remained true to the franchise thanks to its extremely graphic nature and portrayal of grim alternatives in a unique way.
As an executive producer, actor, and creator of the series, Seth Rogen is one of the best people to provide authentic information about a potential sequel to the series.
In an interview with Collider, he provides a status update on Diabolical, season 2. Watch the full interview below:
In a nutshell, he revealed that they are in the process of writing the scripts right now. If the producers like the story, filming will start as soon as possible.
“I hope ‘Diabolical’ comes back. Actually, they bought some scripts for the next season, so we’ve been writing them. We’re not 100% sure they will produce them, but if everything goes as planned, they will produce the scripts that we are writing right now.”
Reliving The Glory of The Boys Diabolical Season 1
Disturbing but insightful would be the perfect way to describe the first season of The Boys Presents: Diabolical. It is an anthology of eight stories that are tied together by a common theme: Vought International and its evilness.
The series touches on all the nefarious actions of the organization, from injecting babies with Compound V to torturing kids with less-than-ideal superpowers.
Season 1 is also Homelander’s first media stint. He talks about his origins and his life as a kid. His childhood was traumatized by the cruel experiments the Vought scientists made him go through.
As the series progresses, Homelander finds himself in a hostage situation where both the criminal and the hostages turn against him. It induces a childhood trauma in him, and he goes on a murdering spree.
The Boys Presents: Diabolical offers a perfect channel to flesh out some characters and tell the backstory of the events in The Boys. It provides a way to do that without adding extra fillers to the canon series.
Hopefully, The Boys Presents: Diabolical will add more depth to the canon story, and we’ll be able to enjoy The Boys season 4 even more!
