As with all MMOs, Amazon’s New World is a constant work in progress, requiring consistent patches and updates to fix the many issues players encounter. One of the reasons for this is that the devs can’t account for every way players interact with the game. However, the most recent patch will solve several problems that occurred due to November’s major update.
Patch 1.1.1 was released yesterday, and it doesn’t have any new additions as it is solely focused on addressing the issues which arose last month. Changes include making some items harder to find, as was initially intended. There are also fixes for the horticultural gear, optimizing crafting, and several bug fixes as well.
Players who down elemental enemies will also not get as many rewards as previously was the case. Elemental motes are no longer rewards for gathering elemental creatures, and other resources have also been reduced by a bit. This makes sense as elemental creatures were intended to be rare and difficult encounters, which wasn’t the case when it came to actual execution in the game.
November’s update removed the horticulture harvesting gear from the game entirely as part of an error, and now it has been returned. Those affected by this change will get some free harvester gear from a rewards chest in their inventory. Issues related to housing were also reported earlier in November. Features like moving, trading, and salvaging housing items and furnishings have now been re-enabled.
There was a significant bug when it came to crafting jewels that has been fixed. Crafting them will now award players the appropriate amount of trade skill XP. The team has detailed their reasons for lowering the XP players from crafting lower trade skill items after leveling beyond them in a blog post.
Aside from these changes, the foundation for server merges to be implemented in the future has been added, and several bug fixes and performance enhancements were added. This is just another check in the long list of fixes and changes required in New World. It’s good to see Amazon is up to the task and handling issues as soon as they can.
