Amazon Prime Gaming’s latest MMORPG, New World, fell prey to server overpopulation at launch, making gamers endure a specific “character creation disabled error” code.
If you don’t live in a cave, you must be aware of the massive influx of players who found refuge in ‘New World’. The game has amassed an all-time peak of 913,634 gamers and finds itself leading Steam’s ‘Top Game by Current Players’ chart with over 700,00 players.
Consequently, Amazon is preventing players from creating new characters in full servers to rectify long wait times as some queues have over 10,000 players waiting to join in.
Consequently, this error situation is something of a hiccup for thousands of gamers! If you are facing this issue too, here’s all you need to know about its fix.
How to Fix Character Creation Disabled Error in New World?
Being a victim of server overcrowding, you must have seen the error say, “Character creation temporarily disabled on this server to prevent overpopulation.”
When you face this issue in New World, there are only two things you can do to fix it:
- Wait until the server is not full.
- Try to join another server.
The MMORPG has also provided enthusiasts with links to a new server status page. Thanks to its hourly updates, the page lets players know if they could create new characters on a server or not.
Full servers are marked with a greyed-out status indicating that character creation is disabled here. “Since this list of worlds can change from hour to hour,” players are advised to keep an eye on this page.
Additionally, the gaming studio announced if you have already created a character on a full server, you should be able to log in and play once you get in.
If your plans to grind on New World with friends are burned to the ground because of this turmoil, what you can do is join a new server.
Amazon declared that free server transfers are coming to the game shortly after October 4.
When the feature is rolled out, it will allow you to create your character on a queueless or low queue server. From there, you can then transfer your character to any server of your choice.
What More is Amazon Doing to Solve New World’s Server Overpopulation?
As it stands, Amazon is actively trying to add new servers and increase the existing server cap (currently 2000) to mend this entire cesspool of New World server overpopulation.
On top of this, devs are taking severe measures against those players who refuse to leave the game.
By the looks of it, New World’s current situation is really awful. Amazon will have to fix things quickly; else, they are looking at a plethora of refund requests.
