‘Wonder Hatch – Island of the Flying Dragon’ is Disney’s new hybrid live-action/ anime project that has grabbed the attention of many. The hybrid versions have been attempted before; however, they are still a rare occurrence that excites the fans.
With the release of this original fantasy work getting closer, Disney has released an exciting new trailer.
Disney started streaming a special video for its hybrid live-action/anime fantasy adventure project ‘Dragons of Wonderhatch’. Disney+ will premiere the series on December 20.
The video released features both the live-action segments depicting the “real world,” with the anime segments representing the world where dragons live.
The footage starts with Nagi, a high school girl in the real world, meeting Tyme, a boy who lives in another world. Oupananta/ Dragon World seems distressed, and the narrator describes that the end of the world has already begun due to a terrifying dragon rider, Gyro.
Gyro has acquired great power, and the only hope of Oupananta is the Akuta Air Corps, led by the dragon rider hero Akuta. However, Gyro is too strong, and the only way to stop him is to visit the outside world. How our main characters stop Gyro from destroying Oupananta forms the crux of the story.
The video also revealed four new cast members for the anime segments. And here’s that list.
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Kate | Yu Shimamura | In ‘Bungo Stray Dogs’ as Akiko Yosano |
Byce | Kenta Miyake | In ‘My Hero Academia’ as All Might |
Gatz | Jun Fukuyama | In ‘Assassination Classroom’ as Koro-sensei |
Maul | Shimba Tsuchiya | In ‘Welcome to the Ballroom’ as Tatara Fujita |
Kentarō Hagiwara (Tokyo Ghoul) is directing at ‘Wonder Hatch – Island of the Flying Dragon’ C & I Entertainment. Meanwhile, Takashi Otsuka is in charge of leading the anime segment of the show with Production I.G.
While the whole concept is exciting, and fans are curious about how it will turn out, Mackenyu is the selling point of this show. After his spectacular performance in One Piece, all his fans are excited to see him on the screen again!
We can hope for a great experience based on the staff and cast members working on this project.
