Ufotable Shares New Teaser Visual for Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu Film

With a stunning teaser visual, ufotable has confirmed that the Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu anime film project is still alive. It is slated to make its theatrical debut in 2023, and more details will be revealed soon.

The visual features the Token danshi, Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, an uchigatana, also famous for being Ryoma Sakamoto’s favorite sword. Yoshiyuki has a forward way of thinking, is cheerful, and thinks of swords as outdated, resulting in him using a gun along with the katana.

Besides this, ufotable also shared a teaser video with a detailed view of the visual and scenes from the anime. The clips feature all the swords in combat, like Horikawa Kunihiro, Izuminokami Kanesada, Yagen Toushirou, Tombokiri, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga.

As seen in the teaser, all swordsmen have different styles of fighting. For instance, Yagen fights with knives, while Tonbokiri has a giant spear-like sword.

However, Yoshiyuki is the one who stands out precisely due to him bringing a gun to a sword fight, quite literally. It’s things like these and his cheerful and curious personality that made Yoshiyuki one of the most beloved characters in the anime back then too.

I really hope that ufotable starts paying more attention to this film because I don’t think fans will be able to wait for it anymore.
