Fate is a funny thing, as a tiny action can alter the future of the entire world. Knowing this, Rieko Hinata and Akihiro Yamada created a story, The Fire Hunter, based on destiny and a simple encounter that changed everything.
The anime adaptation of the novel series is scheduled for a debut on January 14, 2023, and fans have been excited ever since.

The opening theme song is a melodious one titled ‘Usotsuki’ (Liar),’ performed by Leo Ieiri. Meanwhile, the ending theme song is Maaya Sakamoto’s ‘Mada Tōku ni Iru’ (You are Still So Far Away).
Both songs perfectly fit the tragic post-war and apocalyptic setting of the anime and blend well with the scenes.
As the songs play in the backdrop, the video shows us some gruesome scenes of tragedy and war that the human race is going through. The trailer has everything from humans combusting into flames due to a virus to fire hunters risking their lives daily in the black forest.

While the premise is sad, the main story is entirely different. It follows the lives of two people, Toko and Koshi, who were never meant to encounter each other.
Toko and Koshi live completely opposite lives, and their paths crossing is destined to change the world’s fate.
The story follows one more plotline, which is of the ‘Firecatcher Lord.’ Among the fire hunters, it is said that the King of Fire Hunters will come who can harness the power of the artificial star, the Millennium Comet.
So many stories running together are bound to intersect each other, and I’m curious to find out how.
About The Fire Hunter
The Fire Hunter or Hikari no Ou is a novel series by Rieko Hinata. The series first debuted in 2018 and ended in 2020. Holp Shuppan published the four main volumes. A side-story volume was also published in December 2021.
The series takes place in a world that has seen the “Last War.” Humans have gone through biological changes because of it, and coming close to even the tiniest fires can cause them to combust.
In this world, Touko and Koushi are separate individuals from different places whose lives will be followed.
