School is not over yet for Hori, Miyamura, and their classmates. The Horimiya anime series did end at their graduation ceremony, but there are more stories to tell from their high school life.
The anime skipped a lot of material, so it is understandable if you felt the progression a bit faster than usual.
On Sunday, the production staff for the second anime series Horimiya -piece- released a new concept promo video. It is titled “Shuwa Kyun Version”. The anime series is planned for a July release.
Some of the new stories have been revealed in the video. These include a sightseeing trip across Japan, the high-school sports festival, and an incident where Kyosuke pulls Sengoku somewhere.
As previously mentioned, Horimiya -piece- will include stories that were not previously adapted from the manga, meaning it would be a side-story series. The voice cast from the previous anime will reprise their roles.
The staff members are also returning for the new series, with CloverWorks returning to produce the animation. Masashi Ishihama is directing the series once again, with Takao Yoshioka handling the scripts. Haruki Iizuka is returning to design the characters. Masaru Yokoyama is producing the music.
The new stories look fun to watch. It is great to see such side stories make it to animation, especially when the series has concluded. Just a while ago, The Quintessential Quintuplets also announced a series like this. For someone who has not read manga, this is a boon.
