The latest small-screen addition to the Star Wars franchise, Tales of the Jedi, just released its new poster, and we are excited about it!
Since Disney’s Lucasfilm takeover in 2012, the Star Wars franchise has released many peripheral installments like The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan-Kenobi, The Bad Batch, and the currently streaming Andor. The cast of this recent addition is very familiar, with veterans like David Filoni, Liam Neeson, and Ashley Eckstein leading the pack.
Tales of the Jedi will have six shorts divided into two storylines. One storyline will focus on the adventures of young Count Dooku before his shift to the Dark Side, while the other will center on Ashoka Tano. The show’s storyline is tailored to make space for several iconic faces to make cameos throughout its run.
The recent trailer teased the return of Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu and left The Clone Wars fans drooling. Besides, it also hinted that Tales of the Jedi would provide a profound insight into the lives of some of the franchise’s central characters, including the life of Ashoka Tano as a child.
When Disney Plus shared a new Tales of the Jedi poster on their Twitter page with the caption,’ Two stories of fate. One destiny.’ it left the fans positively excited about the addition. With Ashoka and Dooku taking the central spot, separated by a dazzling lightsaber, the rest of the poster contains a mix of expected and unexpected elements.
Obi-Wan is seen sporting his iconic armor, while some underused Star Wars characters like Yaddle and Tera Sinube have also been included in the poster. Could this mean that Disney Plus has finally found a way to bring these characters to the forefront? Guess we’ll have to wait for October 26 to know that!
Here’s a look at the poster:
The biggest news before the much-anticipated release of Tales of the Jedi is that Liam Neeson will play Qui-Gon Jinn, Dooku’s apprentice. His son, Micheál Richardson, will play the character’s younger version.
Another big talking point in Tales of the Jedi is the return of Yaddle.
Who is Yaddle?
Yaddle was a female member of the mysterious species that Master Yoda and Grogu belonged to. She first appeared in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode – The Phantom Menace. Following the events of The Phantom Menace, Yaddle decided to take a less active role and was rarely seen after that.
Despite her elusiveness, Yaddle’s fan base is quite substantial. During the second season of Disney Plus’s The Mandalorian, the aforementioned Ashoka Tano didn’t mention her name even once when talking about Grogu’s race. This started a Twitter campaign among fans with the hashtag #JusticeForYaddle.
The animated series trailer appears to show Yaddle preparing to fight Count Dooku. The Jedi Master and the member of the Jedi High Council will make her first on-screen appearance after almost 23 years, and the fans can’t be more excited about it!
