An official piece of brand-new concept art from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings features a cage fight between Deadpool and Proxima Midnight, one of Thanos’ children.
The official MCU concept art suggests that Deadpool’s introduction was scrapped from the film.
Created by artist and illustrator, Andrew Kim, the concept art depicts the Golden Daggers Club, hosting two very unexpected fighters.
The layout area seen in the art is quite similar to that of the venue in Shang-Chi and the two fighters, Deadpool and Proxima Midnight are seen fighting in a dangling ring.
Ever since Walt Disney Studios acquired 20th Century Fox, MCU fans have been looking forward to news regarding the fate of Wade Wilson.
The good news is that Marvel Studios have confirmed plans of making Deadpool 3, which is all set to mark Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool’s MCU debut.
The Merc with a Mouth’s MCU appearance has been one of the most debated topics on the internet for long. Many fans anticipated his appearance in Spiderman: No Way Home due to its multiverse connections but that dream did not come true.
Now, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness all set to release, many fans are expecting Deadpool to make an appearance in the film, considering the multiverse theories.
However, Reynolds himself have denied rumors about Deadpool’s appearance in the film.
The recently revealed concept art suggests that Deadpool’s introduction into the MCU might have been on the cards while Shang-Chi was being made.
However, it is not confirmed or clear whether the art is reflexive of the film’s initial list of characters or simply designed to provide a base aesthetic for the particular scene in the film.
MCU fans have also pointed out that since Shang-Chi takes place after Avengers: Endgame, Proxima Midnight cannot be alive in the film since they all died when Tony Stark used the Infinity Stones.
In Shang-Chi, the fight scene depicted in the art actually took place between Abomination and Wong (he is all set to play a crucial role in the upcoming Doctor Strange 2).
As of now, we are sure that Deadpool 3 is happening, but whether or not Deadpool will make his MCU debut before the much-awaited film is still a question mark.
Ryan Reynolds recently went on record and assured fans that further news about Deadpool 3 will soon be revealed.
I’ll say this about [Deadpool 3] is I’ll have a batch of updates on that sooner rather than later, I hope. So, I’ll be able to get into stuff about Deadpool a little bit more clearly and definitively down the road.
