Dragon Ball is and will be one of the biggest and most epic shows in the anime world. It is one of the oldest shows that gave rise to the entire Shounen genre. It has been 40 years since this franchise started, and the length of this anime is no joke.
Despite running this long, fans still crave to watch this series again, and Akira Toriyama is the God who granted us this wish by announcing a new franchise. Fans are “literally” losing their mind, and here’s all the information we know about this series.
Toei Animation announced that there will be a new anime in the Dragon Ball franchise titled “Dragon Ball Daima” in fall 2024 at New York Comic Con.
The title “Daima” doesn’t mean anything, but the kanji could be interpreted as “Evil” in English.
The company released a teaser trailer to commemorate this occasion. The 3-minute video features the long journey of the Dragon Ball franchise right from 1984. The teaser includes 40 years of epic snippets from the series.
In this series, Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and other characters become younger than usual.
However, this differs from a similar plotline in the Dragon Ball GT anime, in which Goku reverts into a kid after the end of the original series.
Series creator Akira Toriyama is “deeply involved beyond his usual capacity” in this anime. He has penned entirely new episodes for the storyline. He recently released a statement about the new anime.
Here’s the statement:
“Hello. I’m Akira Toriyama.
I’m currently working on a new Dragon Ball.
The title is “Dragon Ball Daima”.
“DAIMA” is a made-up term, which in Japanese characters would be “大魔” or in English would be something like “Evil.”
Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small.
In order to fix things, they’ll head off to a new world!
It’s a grand adventure with intense action in an unknown and mysterious world.
Since Goku has to make up for his petite size, he uses his Nyoibo (Power Pole) to fight, something not seen in a long time.
I came up with the story and settings, as well as a lot of the designs.
I’m putting a lot more into this than usual!
Things will unfold that close in on the mysteries of the Dragon Ball world.

Fans are rightfully excited about this new anime, and the animation seems to have improved by leaps and bounds. They seem to have corrected their mistakes from Dragon Ball Super, and the spirit looks very rounded.
We will discover another original series timeline, and I am excited. Let’s wait until the company releases more information about this brand-new series!
