Shin Sakura Taisen (Project Sakura Wars) is one of the upcoming ventures of Sega for the Playstation 4. The game will launch in Japan on 12th December, and later on to the American regions in spring 2020. Set in the 29th year of the Taisho period of the franchise, 12 years after Sakura Wars V, the game follows Seijuro Kamiyama, the leader of a New Imperial Assault Force.

1. Anime Adaptation

Recently Sega held a live stream presentation on Youtube and announced that an animated adaptation of the game will premiere in April 2020. They also tweeted out a teaser of the upcoming anime and revealed the Staff for the same. A stage play for the game is also scheduled to run at Sogetsu Hall, Tokyo from 5th to 8th March.

The anime will be directed by Manabu Ono (Sanzigen), famous for his works in The Irregular At Magic High School. Tatsuhiko Urahata is in charge of the series scripts and Kohei Tanaka, the composer for a majority of the music for the game, is also in charge of the anime music composition.

The anime will star the main cast for the game including Ayane Sakura, Yōhei Azakami, Maaya Uchida, Hibiku Yamamura, Ayaka Fukuhara, Saori Hayami, and Michie Tomizawa. More details regarding the project will be announced in Sega’s next live stream.

2. Stage Play

The stage play of the game, titled Shin Sakura Taisen The Stage will perform 8 times between 5th and 8th March 2020 in Sogetsu Hall. The stage play’s official Twitter announced the cast for the play.

Project Sakura Wars is an upcoming cross-genre video game developed and published by Sega for the PlayStation 4. The sixth mainline entry and a soft reboot of the Sakura Wars series, the game is scheduled to be released in 2019 in Japan and 2020 internationally.
