Earlier this month, Capcom released the 1.04 patch for the recently released and critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 Remake which improved the visuals on PlayStation 5 and the dead zone on Xbox.
But the 1.04 update seemingly lowered the image quality and performance on Xbox Series X, and Xbox players were quick to report aliasing issues and blurry visuals in both the game’s Resolution and Frame Rate Mode.
The new 1.05 update for Resident Evil 4 does address some of the issues players have been facing. While the patch contains fixes for issues across all platforms, it does include some fixes for Xbox Series X, with changes to the graphics rendering process and fixes to the dead zone.
A Reddit user named r/Deus-Ex-MJ commented on a post about the 1.05 patch claiming that the issue has apparently been fixed. The user commented “There is next to no texture pop-in delay playing on Resolution Mode + RT OFF + Hair Strands OFF. They wrote, “This applies to both cinematics as well as after opening and closing inventory/map screens on my end.”
The user also confirmed that the new update also made the stick dead zones more responsive, and the shimmering issues have been reduced too. The user wrote, “Shimmering artifact majorly improved. “Many had particularly noticed it on Ashley’s hair, but her hair is fine now. Similarly, the excessive shimmering seen on the alternative title screen (the one that shows up once you’ve beaten the game) has been mitigated.”
Props to Capcom for listening to player feedback and dropping updates to fix the issues occurring in the game in a relatively short amount of time to make the experience smoother.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is out now globally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
