Pokemon, also known as Pocket Monsters is based on creatures called Pokemon, which humans – known as Pokemon Trainers – catch and train to battle each other for sport. Currently, Pokemon is finishing up another series titled Pokemon: Sun & Moon. The series featured Ashe’s first win in a tournament so far in the series. After ending its final bout, the series is set to undergo a significant change into the next part, Pokemon: The series.
Soon after its release Pokemon became a fan-favourite and is now a legendary show. The new series is in many ways a reboot of the original, and the new trailer is just AMAZING! Initially adopted as an animated series in 1997 the series has over 1000 episodes divided into 6 series in Japan and 22 seasons over the globe.

2. Release Schedule and Key Visual
Pokemon will return with a brand new anime series, Pokemon: The Series on November 17 on TV Tokyo. The dubbed version of the series is about 20 episodes behind the original Japanese version, so the English series won’t air until the beginning of 2020.
3. Trailer and Opening Theme
The trailer was released in September 2019, announcing the arrival of the new series and highlighting a few new features. The trailer showcases Ashe and his Pikachu along with Gou and his Scorbunny, mentioning that the series revolves around 2 protagonists now instead of 1.
Pocket Monsters aka Pokemon dropped a new trailer on 1st November which gave us a lot to look forward to. It seems like the new character Gou is fascinated by the phantom Pokemon Mew. Hence the new series might fully explore the mysteries of Mew and Mewtwo. The new preview shows all the basic Pokemons (Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle) from Indigo League and skillfully throws you into a world of nostalgia.
The trailer also previews the opening theme song “1.2.3” by musical duo After the Rain (Soraru x Mafumafu)
It looks like the relationship between Gou and Ash will differ from the usual Ash-Gary relationships. Unlike them, Gou and Ash will be good friends while being rivals. After watching the trailer, one thing is confirmed that the new Pokemon anime is nothing like we have ever seen and will certainly be bigger and better.
4. Pokemon Exclusive Sneak-Peek
Poke-franchise released a teaser video as an exclusive premiere that allowed the fans a sneak-peek into the new season. Fantastic’ would be an understatement for that 24-minute long video. It gave us a peek at Ash’s new journey, his meeting with the second protagonist Gou and the legendary pokemon Lugia. We also saw the new Team Rocket, their resemblance to the initial versions made us nostalgic.
5. Pikachu’s Back Story & Episode 1 Synopsis
Pikachu is undeniably the most loved Pokémon of the Pocket Monsters franchise. We have seen the little guy with Ash since day one, fighting through hard times, conquering every obstacle in their way. But PIKACHU’s BACK STORY is something no one knows anything about. No one knows anything about the time before Pikachu ended up at Professor Oak’s Lab.
However, the new Pokémon anime released a trailer a few days ago and teased some insights into Pikachu’s back story. The new trailer confirms that we will see Ash in the Kanto region again. The creators will kick off the series with a backstory to Ash’s Pikachu.
“In a forest somewhere in Kanto, there once was a lonely Pichu. This Pichu – who was still quite young – had a certain encounter and farewell. This took place shortly before Ash and his partner Pikachu started travelling together. This is the beginning of the anime’ Pocket Monster.'”
– Synopsis of Episode 1 – “Birth of Pikachu”
The synopsis states “Pichu had a certain encounter and farewell” which may explain why Pikachu was initially very distrusting towards Ash.
6. Episode Titles and Synopsis
Recently, the hype was boosted by the franchise as they provided official titles and synopsis for the initial episodes of the upcoming series.
- Ep 1 – Birth of Pikachu: It will showcase Pikachu’s backstory before he ended up in Oak’s lab.
- Ep 2 – On Lugia They Go, Satoshi and Go!: Ash encounters the legendary Pokémon Lugia and his soon to befriend/rival Gou!
- Ep 3 – Fushigisou is Quite Mysterious, Don’t You Think So?: Fans will see more of the Ash-Gou duo as help with some Pokemon research.
- Ep 4 – Let’s Go to the Galar Region! An Encounter with Hibanny!!: The episode will show the new region – Galar when Ash and Go went there after hearing about the rumours of Dynamaxing.
7. Origin of Ash and Professor Oak’s Relation
Recently, another pokemon enthusiast @AshandSerena tweeted another surprising information. It seems like apart from Ash going back to his origins and Pikachu’s back story being revealed, we will also get to know Ash before his legendary meeting with Pikachu at the age of 10.
So Satoshi and Go went to the Prof.Oak Camp when they are 6years old.

Professor Oak Pokemon Camp will be held when Satoshi and Go are 6years old.

Fans will get to know about the Pokemon Camp organised by Professor Oak back when Satoshi(Ash) and Go(Gou) were only 6 years old. Not only we will see Ash’s first encounter with Oak anime will also be laying the foundation of our second protagonist.
8. Pokemon: The Series
Pokemon: The Series is expected to drop on TV Tokyo on November 17, after Pokemon: Sun & Moon wraps up. The series is set to give a significant reboot to the franchise. A new protagonist, named Gou, is expected to change things up a bit in the storytelling methodology of the current series. Accompanied by a Scorbunny, Gou is out to catch ’em all, just like Ash, who will be returning as a protagonist, accompanied by his Pikachu. Gou is described by Serebii as “a young boy just starting out on his journey. His goal is to catch all Pokémon and eventually find the Mythical Pokémon, Mew who he saw when he was a child.” Daiki Yamashita is Gou’s Japanese voice actor. Fans may recognize him as the voice of Izuku Midoriya in the My Hero Academia anime.
The series will be exploring every single region of the franchise thus far, instead of just the new region Galar. Scorbunny is one of the three starter Pokemon in Galar, the new region in the Sword & Shield Pokemon games, thus confirming that Gou is originally from Galar. The favourite fan region Kanto is going to return featuring a new Kanto Professor and his daughter who help Ash and Gou in their journeys. It will be exciting to see how Pokemon Co. handles exploring every region in one series, it is definitely not an easy task. It will mark the first time the series explores a world this big.
9. Sword & Shield Game
Sword & Shield is the latest in a long line of Pokemon games. It will be released on Nintendo Switch on November 15. It is set in a new region, full of new Pokemon, Galarian forms of Older Generation Pokemon and brand new battle mechanics.
