If there is one game that has received a lot of love, support, and effort from the modding community, it is undoubtedly The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Skyrim has been released several times now, and the world of Tamriel is accessible with even the latest generation of consoles.
Given its prevalence and popularity, it’s no surprise that the modding community has been consistently adding content to the game, even ten years after its release! A new mod is now trying to combine two of the most famous fantasy RPG games by bringing the Witchers to the land of Skyrim.
Skyrim mods number in thousands. While some may focus on the minor quality of life improvements, others may aim to add more content such as quests, spells, creatures, and even famous characters from other franchises.
The most recent mod, titled “Play As A Witcher” is looking to merge the world of Skyrim with that of The Witcher by making Witchers a playable race in Skyrim. They also feature several customizations, allowing players to create their own unique look for their Witcher.
The Witcher race also offers many powerful bonuses compared to the original game’s races and can regenerate stats such as health and magicka 2-3 times faster than the other races.
Witchers also offer enhanced damage for unarmed combat, with their punches being three times as strong as that of the other races. The mod also brings two Witcher signs – Ard and Igni – and the creator, RobA, intends to add even more.
They suggest pairing this mod with the previously released “A Witcher’s Adventure” mod. This mod adds many features from the Witcher franchise, such as more of the game’s signs, weapons, and monsters, along with the main questline inspired by The Witcher.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has left its mark on gaming history, and it doesn’t seem like it will be forgotten any time soon. The game is currently available on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Switch. The Anniversary Edition is slated for launch on November 11th for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
