The new trailer of The Flash, which was shown at Cinema Con, showed off Michael Keaton’s Batman. In the trailer, Keaton’s Batman says, “You wanna get nuts? Let’s get nuts!”, as a clear tribute to the line from the 1989 Tim Burton film.
The Flash may have been delayed for a year now, but it is finally moving towards a release. In the clip shown at CinemaCon, The Flash travels through the multiverse and meets Michael Keaton’s Batman. Interestingly, his Batcave has several Batsuits.
The sneak peek also hints that Batman will be de-aged in the film and also ride a bicycle. Keaton is playing Batman after 20 years, as has not starred as Bruce Wayne since 1992’s Batman Returns. He has since moved on to the MCU, where he’s played Adrian Toomes or Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Morbius.
In an interview with The Jess Cagle Show, Keaton explained his decision to return as Batman:
“When it came around again, I was getting curious about it. I thought, ‘Boy, what would that be like?’ And then, coincidentally, there were murmurs, I got a call from Warner Bros. They wanted to talk to me about something, and there were hints of Batman. It has to be good. There’s no reason to do it if it’s not good. It’s not gonna really change anything. And I just jumped in and had fun. And why would you not? You know, I mean, director Andy Muschietti is fantastic, and it’s really creative. I don’t know. It’s fun.”

Apart from Keaton, we also got to see Michael Shannon make an appearance in the trailer as General Zod and were introduced to Sasha Callie’s Supergirl. Once Warner Brothers releases the trailer, we will probably get more information about what to expect from the film.
The Flash is scheduled to release in theatres on June 23, 2023.
