While Elden Ring‘s launch may have been soured slightly by the presence of visual and technical issues, there is no denying that it is a beautiful game. FromSoftware has applied everything they learned from the world-building of Dark Souls and brought it into their latest open-world RPG.

So, it was a bummer when players found no photo mode that would allow them to immortalize the scenic vistas and epic fights. Thankfully, modders have come to the rescue.

The unofficial photo mode mod comes from creator Frans “Otif_Inf” Bouma for Elden Ring, and it will be free until March 10th. Post this date, you will need to subscribe to the creator’s Patreon for access.

As is the case with other mods like the ones where you can pause the game or use cheats, players will have to go into offline mode for this mod to avoid being banned. While using the mod, players will be able to move the camera around freely, make their avatar invisible to enemies, change the field of view, hide the UI, and pause the game

When installing the mod, be sure to follow the instructions correctly. You will be required to drag a file into the Elden Ring install directory that renames a file to disable Easy Anti-Cheat and forces the game into offline mode. It is reversible by dragging the file back out, but it is mandatory to have it in the folder when booting up the game, so you are not banned from playing online in the future.

Many players will find this a risk worth taking due to the sheer beauty of Elden Ring. The vistas offered are some of the best to come from FromSoftware, and the character design on every major boss is unique. This mod will be a hit amongst a lot of players, and it makes sense to make an offline-only character just for this mod.
