A new bug in Cyberpunk 2077 turns a simple phone call into a hilarious experience. The bug lets player summon the character Rogue with just a phone call.
When it comes to bugs or glitches in video games, it seems that there is no shortage of them in Cyberpunk 2077. Even since its launch, the developers have faced much backlash from the gamers for releasing a buggy game. The situation got so bad that lawsuits were filed against CD Projekt Red. And now, a new bug has surfaced in Cyberpunk 2077, while not being game-breaking, it is still quite hilarious.
A new Cyberpunk 2077 bug causes players to inadvertently summon Rogue while making a simple phone call to them.
The video uploaded on r/cyberpunkgame by user u/The_Cluster01 shows them making a phone call to Rogue. When the call connects, the audio seems to be bugged. However, when the player turns around, they realize that they have inadvertently summoned Rogue to their location. All while talking to Rogue on the phone.
We see Rogue suddenly appearing out of thin air and casually lounging on a non-existing chair in the video. The audio that sounded bugged has two overlapping voices, one source was Rogue on the phone, and the other was the real-life Rogue who suddenly appeared behind V.
However, it is not the first-time players have seen this bug. On the CD Projekt Red forum, players have already been looking for solutions to the bug.
Players have been speculating the cause of the bug on various online forums. Some players think that this is how the developers decided to code in phone calls. When making a call, the developers make the appropriate character appear off-screen somewhere nearby to V to get the audio to work perfectly.
CD Projekt Red recently released the first major update, Patch 1.1, to improve the gameplay & stability and to fix the bugs & glitches. However, this specific bug might not be fixed soon, as it is not that significant.
About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.
Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
