Treyarch’s latest update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is bringing an ATV-load of bug fixes, a new UI addition, and most importantly, a much-requested multiplayer feature.
Thanks to the new update, players will be able to see ping information while they are searching for a match. Ping is a measurement of how long it takes for the player’s game to exchange information with the server. It also shows how strong the link is between a player’s internet connection and a match. A lower ping is preferable and a higher ping can possibly lead to matches with lag and connection issues.
This feature is a standard amongst most multiplayer shooters but for some reason it has remained absent from CoD: Black Ops Cold War, which is one of the most popular shooters on the planet.
While Black Ops Cold War’s matchmaking has been quite the issue for players, having access to ping information will most definitely make the experience smoother. This is so because ping information will help players make better choices with regards to matches to join and will also make diagnosing of issues less of a headache.
The update comes shortly after Season 3 was kicked off with a whole bunch of new content. But it’s much more satisfying when a long-awaited feature arrives.
