The King’s Man is going to answer all your queries about how the Kingsmen were formed. But first, cue the newly released character posters!
The first poster introduces Ralph Fiennes as Orlando, Duke of Oxford, and Harris Dickinson as Conrad. Besides being super spies, the two men are also super stylish, laying down the tradition of oxford suits seen in the first two Kingsmen movies.
The next two to be introduced are Gemma Arterton as Polly and Djimon Hounsou as Shola. Polly and Shola are vital to the spy team — you’ve already seen their kickass moves and daredevil stunts in the trailer. As the tweet puts it, they are tailor-made for espionage.
Coming in to rule, Matthew Goode is in his military form as Captain Morton, while Tom Hollander is simply introduced as “King.”
The film’s attempt to poke fun at the European monarchy will have Hollander play the role of rulers of three enemy countries, who also happen to be distant cousins: George V (England), Wilhelm II (Germany), and Nicholas II (Russia).
Last, but certainly not the least, it’s Rhys Ifan as Ra Ra Rasputin, Russia’s greatest love machine (among other things). The film has teased him to be the main villain, the one who pulls all the strings.
All the tweets come attached with a “See #TheKing’sMan in two months,” a not-so-subtle reminder to mark your calendars for December 22.
This star-studded movie is overflowing with talent, as other cast members include Daniel Brühl, Stanley Tucci, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Charles Dance.
From all the Kingsmen movies so far, this one really pushes the envelope as it intertwines history, comedy, and action. Set between 1914-16, the jabs at famous figures and lore from WWI make me look at it from a whole new angle.
Plus, the first two Kingsmen movies amazed us because of their out-of-the-box, uber-cool weapons and technology. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see what spy technology looked like a century ago?
The King’s Man’s premiere couldn’t come any sooner!
