Shortly after insiders claimed Battlefield 2042’s open beta is scheduled to take place on September 24, more exciting news arrived! We now have an insight into the abilities of five thrilling specialists that the game houses.
EA gave fans a peek at what the five specialists of Battlefield 2042 have to offer, thanks to new gameplay footage. Each Specialist packs a standout trait and equipment while belonging to one of these four classes: Recon, Assault, Support, and Engineer.
While the Specialists have one unique Specialty and Trait, the rest of the loadout can be customized and equipped without any issue.
Specialists in Battlefield 2042
Here are the five Specialists that Battlefield 2042 has revealed as of yet:
1. WEBSTER MACKAY
Class – Assault
Equipment – Grappling Hook
Trait – Nimble
Webster’s Grappling Hook shoots a rope that attaches to the surface and pulls him towards the attached point. Combine this equipment with his Nimble trait, and you’ll get a specialist who not only reaches inaccessible places but is lightning quick too!
2. KIMBLE “IRISH” GRAVES
Class – Engineer
Equipment – Fortification System
Trait – Veteran
This engineering specialist sports a fortification system that includes the DCS deployable cover and APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel as his equipment. If your game heavily focuses on a rock-solid defense, look no further than Irish.
He can protect himself and his allies from bullets and explosives while his APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel takes down projectiles.
3. MARIA FALCK
Class – Support
Equipment – S21 Syrette Pistol
Trait – Combat Surgeon
Maria’s S21 Syrette Pistol shoots healing syringes. You don’t want to be her enemy as the same pistol inflicts damage on foes. Moreover, her trait allows her to revive downed allies to full health.
4. PYOTR ‘BORIS’ GUSKOVKSY
Class – Engineer
Equipment – SG-36 Sentry Gun
Trait – Sentry Operator
This Russian Specialist is all about power! ‘Boris’ operates an SG-36 Sentry Gun that automatically spots and engages enemies detected within Sentry’s radius.
His Sentry Operator trait lets Boris spot the enemies within the Sentry’s zone.
5. WIKUS ‘CASPER’ VAN DAELE
Class – Recon
Equipment – OV-P Recon Drone
Trait – Movement Sensor
When it comes to long-range engagement, look no further than Wikus ‘Casper’ Van Daele.
His OV-P Recon Drone is a flying drone that excels at spotting enemies. Moreover, it can disorient targets by using EMP blasts and designate targets for lock-on weapons.
The Movement Sensor trait further identifies incoming enemies, both while boots on the ground or while piloting the Recon Drone.
If these specialists, with their stupendous abilities, got you excited, then know this isn’t all! EA is expected to unveil five more “redacted” specialists.
Hopefully, EA will reveal them all as we approach Battlefield 2042’s open beta, which as per EA community manager Alan Freeman, should arrive “later this month.”
About Battlefield 2042

The games’ story will be revealed through episodic additions, allowing players to create a future for themselves and other non-pats in a world on the brink of destruction.
