Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling Games Kenny Omega has stated that their new console game may release sometime in 2022. He spoke to talkSPORT and said,
I wouldn’t say years plural. I would say in a perfect world, give it about a year’s time.

The new AEW Game is currently under development by Yuke’s and is being led by Hideyuki “Geta” Iwashita.
I’m really excited. We’re always in contact almost every day with our teams at Yukes. I’m always in contact with Geta-san as well and I feel like we’ve got a really good chemistry and dynamic with one another.

Omega also stated how the game is going to incorporate various styles of wrestling, and how it’s evolved over the years.
The biggest challenge we have right now is kind of representing the current wrestling style in a way that still make it feel like the games of old. Because things have changed, it’s not the same wrestling climate as it was in 2000. As you know, we’ve kind of crossed over into a new generation of wrestling and wrestling styles and certain types of wrestling never ages.
Kenny Omega
He stated that when it comes to the actual release, he wants the game to be 100% ready to play on launch day. Taking a jab at Cyberpunk 2077 he said,
We don’t want a Street Fighter 5 launch, we don’t want a Cyberpunk launch. So we’re going to create something that will be fun to play from day one, but it will be ever-evolving as our roster is.
Kenny Omega
And as a final point, he mentioned that very much like the studio, the in-game roster and content will be in a constant state of evolution. Mew signings, or pay-per-view names and events could be added to the game pretty easily and quickly.
That’s the plan anyway! So everyone can feel up to date with our roster and how AEW grows.
