No one can compete with Japan when it comes to some pretty cool anime adapted from popular video games.
But, Netflix might soon be reaching for the anime crown with its upcoming video game inspired anime, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood.
I know what you’re are about to ask, and yes, this is the DOTA you’re thinking about. Just about every gamer has probably played DOTA during their childhood. Get ready to relive that childhood nostalgia with Netflix’s new anime.
Netflix’s DOTA: Dragon’s Blood anime will be an 8 episode series based on the DOTA 2 game. The anime is set to premiere on March 25 and a new trailer is here to pump up the excitement.
The trailer introduces Davion the Dragon Knight, the main protagonist for the series. Judging by the trailer, the anime is surely going to please us with some aesthetic colors and gorgeous backdrops.
DOTA 2’s official Twitter account is just as excited as us with this new venture.
As the tweet explains, we fans might finally get to see the Dota universe like never before.
The staff involved in the anime includes:
Positions | Staff | Other Works |
Production | Studio MIR | The Legend of Korra |
Executive Producer | Ashley Edward Miller | X-Men: First Class |
Co-executive Producer | Ryu Ki Hyun | — |
The anime will tell the story of Davion the Dragon Knight, a popular character in the DOTA 2 game. Davion will embark on a journey to destroy the scourge dominion and encounter various friends and foes.
Joining him will be Princess Mirana, who has her own secret mission to deal with.
For all you non-gamers out there, the TL;DR version for the Defense of the Ancient 2 (DOTA 2) game is that it’s a multiplayer online battle arena game where you team up with 4 other players and have a 5v5 team battle to see who can destroy the enemy’s structure faster.
DOTA: Dragon’s Blood might just be the perfect binge for us anime lovers and I can hardly wait for its release.
