Tekken has taken over otakus with its various video games. Although it did receive OVAs and a film, it never received an anime, and Netflix is here to set that right.
Netflix’s latest announcement will be music to your ears as it has just revealed a teaser for a Tekken anime series. Tekken: Bloodline will be released in 2022.
It looks like the anime will adapt the plotline of Tekken 3, with Jin Kazama as the protagonist. Jin is the son of Jun Kazama and Kazuya Mishima.
Just as the trailer shows, he has been trained by his mother and has a sweet temperament unless provoked. Of course, his fate is not as sweet, and soon a tragedy will hit him.
With no other way, Jin will seek out his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima, but help only comes to the worthy. Can Jin prove that he is worthy of his lineage?
You should also check out this recently revealed visual showing Jin in his true form. It looks like he will awaken his powers after being trained by Heihachi.
Teppen 3 was launched in 1996. Jin first made his debut in Tekken 3 and then became the franchise’s lead for the subsequent few releases.
The trailer promises a CGI-heavy series, and I hope the adaptation stays true to its source. You can compare it to Netflix’s previous anime like Castlevania, DOTA, etc.
Netflix is sure to reveal the definite release date soon, along with the cast members. Meanwhile, you should brush up on the game to enjoy the anime fully.
