Pokemon has grown into a massive franchise over the years. The days when Ash and Pikachu went on adventures with Brock and Misty are now a dose of nostalgia for us.
The franchise has come as far as their 23rd movie installment called Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle. The film made its debut in 2020, featuring Ash and Pikachu as its protagonists.
Most of us consume our daily anime content from streaming platforms. So, to stay at the top, Netflix has been announcing loads of anime titles in its catalog.
Similarly, Netflix announced that Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle will be joining the streaming giant’s platform on October 8, 2021.
This was announced with an English dubbed trailer featuring Ash and Pikachu with the new characters: Zarude and Koko’s.
Zarude is a mythical pokemon residing in the Forest of Okoya. One day he stumbles upon an infant in a cradle washed up on the riverside. Zarude adopts the child as his son and names him Koko.
Of course, the infamous gang Team Rocket is also shown. Honestly, how can a pokemon show be complete with them?!
The story follows Ash and Pikachu while they excitedly explore Okoya, where Zarude and Koko reside. Their problems arise as Koko discovers his heritage as a human after meeting Ash.
Koko had been living a lie that he is a pokemon as the child has never seen another human before. Things soon turn upside down as an evil researcher tries to destroy the home of Zarude’s tribe.
Even before we knew anime, we all have seen, loved, and wanted to have a pokemon pet. All of our hearts broke when we realized that pokemon aren’t real, but the fact remains that they made our childhood.
After 23 films and 24 TV series, Ash Ketchum is still a 10-year-old, and we’re not ready for him to grow up yet.
