Netflix released the trailer for its upcoming survival-drama miniseries, Keep Breathing, starring actress Melissa Barrera. The series, consisting of six episodes will premiere on July 28th, 2022.
The series features a woman, Liv, who finds herself stranded on an island, in the middle of Canadian wilderness, following a massive plane crash. As she tries to battle her way into survival, she recalls various moments in her life, including both happy and sad ones.
Created and written by Martin Gero and Brendan Gall, the limited series promises to be a hard-hitting survival drama which also deals with past trauma and the role of memories in our lives.
Here’s what the official synopsis on Netflix reads –
After her private plane crashes in the remote Canadian frontier, lone survivor and New York lawyer, Liv, must battle both an unforgiving wilderness and past personal traumas to stay alive.
Melissa Barrera plays the role of a New York lawyer in the series. The cast also features Jeff Wilbusch, Austin Stowell, Juan Pablo Espinosa, and Florencia Lozano, who play supporting roles.
The series is all set to have six episodes, directed by Maggie Kiley and Rebecca Rodriguez. Kiley will be directing the first 3 episodes, while Rodriguez will take it up for the last 3 episodes.
Melissa Barrera is best known for her recurring role in the Scream franchise. She will be reprising her role as Sam Carpenter in the upcoming sequel to the franchise as well. She has also played Lyn Hernandez in the Starz series Vida, which gained her acclaim and recognition.
