The drama series is a sequel to the Karate Kid franchise and follows the lives of Daniel LaRusso, and William Zabka as their rivalry reignites after the latter opens the Cobra Kai dojo. They seek to put their pasts behind them and train their students to follow in their footsteps.
A few months after the release of season 5, Netflix reveals that Cobra Kai season 6 will officially conclude the franchise.
Netflix has even released a video hyping the show’s final season and suggesting that the showdown will be more epic than any other.
The official Twitter page of Cobra Kai has also tweeted a letter from showrunners Jon Hurwitz, Josh Herald, and Hayden Schlossberg under the guise of the All-Valley Karate Championships Tournament Committee.
Everything We Know About Season 6
Netflix has been rather late in releasing an official confirmation of Cobra Kai season 6. After season 5 ended, the fans were waiting with bated breath for any word about the show’s future, but it came much later.
The makers of Karate Kid expressed their hopes of the show continuing beyond season 6, but Maccio has already teased that they have filmed scenes for what will now be the show’s last season.
The long hiatus from Netflix was enough to signal that season 6 would be the last for Cobra Kai. While some are disheartened, most fans are satisfied because the show will sign off on a high.
Season 5 landed a rare, hundred percent perfect approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, taking the show to an all-time high.
Not much is known about the plot of season 6, but we can expect the return of John Kreese after faking his death to take revenge against Daniel, Johnny and Terry Silver.
However, it is unknown whether Terry will make a comeback in season 6 after being defeated by Daniel in the season 5 finale.
The showrunners have indicated that season 6 could take place away from the Valley. So, we can expect Daniel and Johnny to get a proper closure, and they will move away from the area that has brought them so much heartbreak toward a place where they can enjoy the rest of their days.
