Kadokawa has presented a whole host of new information regarding the upcoming original animation Negative Positive Angler, which is to be headed by Yutaka Uemura (of Saga of Tanya the Evil fame).
Additional visuals were revealed after the recent worldwide release of the complete trailer. Along with announcing the anime’s release date, we got the information on the voice actors and the bands working on opening and closing theme songs.
1. When is Negative Positive Angler set to release?
The worldwide premiere of Negative Positive Angler is set to be on October 3, 2034. This was officially announced by Kadokawa Production Studios, along with the new visuals and other cast information.
The wait is almost over, as many ‘heartfelt anime’ fans ready their pillows to cry and laugh into. October has a lot in store for us. Some of us going through tough times can be reminded of how strong humans can be (a reminder like ReLife).
2. New Information About Negative Positive Angler
The announcement came with information regarding the opening and closing theme songs. Three-piece Japanese band Van de Shop will perform the opening theme song “Ito” whereas 96neko (also known as Kuroneko) will be performing the ending theme song “Shonin Yokkyu“.
Additional information about who is joining the cast of Negative Positive Angler was revealed, it includes the voice actor of Asuna Yuki (female lead of Sword Art Online), Haruka Tomatsu for Alice. And the voice of the magnanimous Holm (Dungeon Meshi), Yuya Hirose for Arua.
The direction is under the famed Uemura with Negative Positive Angler being directed at studio NUT. The series composition is by Tomohiro Suzuki (of One-Punch Man fame).
While the character designs and chief animation direction is Hiromi Taniguchi. Hiromi has recently been the go-to for many anime including the upcoming remake of Ranma 1/2. Beautiful music scores from Tomoki Kikuya will take the cake.
3. What is the plot of Negative Positive Angler?
Tsunehiro Sasaki, a student, is told by his doctor that he only has two years to live. He starts to spend his days in depression until one day, his debt collectors chase him. In a rush, he accidentally falls into the sea but is saved by Hana, Takaaki, and his fishing buddies.
The sentimental story revolves around this University student, who has a timer on his life. And has lost all hope. The colors of life have turned gray as every passing moment feels tortuous, and the meaning of life seems like a joke.
Thankfully, after our ill-fortune bearing protagonist comes into contact with Hana and the others, things take a turn for the better. There is something infectious about the boundless optimism of dense people that affects Sasaki.
Upon Hana’s urging, Tsunehiro takes up fishing and, in the process, deepens his friendship with his fellow fishermen. He soon starts working in the convenience store where Hana and Takaaki work and relishes the true joy of fishing. A wholesome fishing anime is just what the doctor ordered!
3. About Negative Positive Angler
Negative Positive Angler is an original anime project created by Kadokawa and produced by the Japanese Anime Studio NUT. It is an inspiring tale of rising from the darkness and living happily.
Tsunehiro Sasaki, a university student, suffers from an incurable disease and is told by his doctor that he has a few years to live. Depressed, he tries to pass through his remaining life until, one day, some fishermen rescue him after falling into the sea. Upon their insistence, he takes up the new hobby and starts to find hope again.
