The next installment of the Need For Speed franchise is in development, scheduled for release by the end of 2022. Although EA has not released teaser images, a couple of pictures were leaked in the r/NeedForSpeed subreddit.
A short clip of the untitled Need For Speed game has been leaked online, giving fans an unofficial look.
The clip was shared on Reddit and showed a car failing to jump through an obstacle with an unbothered NPC walking behind it, who appears unfazed by the near-miss accident.
The video features the various animations one can expect in the game after a failed stunt. The screen briefly changes colors, after which a skull and crossbones appear above the car. A pair of animated wings then extend from each side of the car before all of the animations altogether.
This leak supports the earlier rumors which claimed the NFS game would be sticking with its photo-realistic style while incorporating animated graphics.
The new game was rumored to be announced last month; fans feared the launch was delayed. However, an insider confirmed the game would be available before the end of 2022.
The last game in the series, Need for Speed Heat, was released in 2019. It has been three years since, which is arguably a long time between titles. Fortunately, fans will only have to wait a couple of months more.
Need For Speed 2022 is expected to launch in December.
