Wolf Entertainment’s Law & Order and One Chicago have remained two of the hallmark franchises that NBC has owned. Consisting of six shows under the two heads, the media franchises have stayed on the network for over four decades. And they’ll stay on longer if the recent renewal confirmation is to be believed!
Dick Wolf confirmed the news in a recent statement! Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. have all been renewed by NBC for the 2023-2024 TV season. Read Wolf Entertainment CEO’s statement as released by NBC below:
I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC. All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers, and writers. I’d also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons.
Dick Wolf
Dick Wolf’s Law & Order and Chicago series have brought great TV ratings to the network, so keeping him and his shows around is a wise decision on the company’s part. And it makes sense to renew all six shows rather than choosing a few and raising the confused complaints of the crime-drama fans.
The longest-running TV show will continue with season 25, with Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU renewed for 22 new episodes, and Law & Order: Organized Crime will have 13 episodes. SVU EP Mariska Hargitay has shown her excitement to continue telling these stories in a statement to Variety:
All of us at ‘SVU’ feel honored to be able to continue telling these essential stories, and we are proud that the family we’ve become has grown stronger, bolder, and more united with each season. While we have seen significant changes in our culture, injustice persists, and too many voices still go unheard.

The news of the renewal doesn’t come with any plot details for the upcoming seasons of the six shows under Law & Order and One Chicago. But considering the current seasons across the board are still left with their finales, it’s safer to avoid disclosing any important details to hold off any spoilers.
