The premiere of season 7 of Natsume’s Book of Friends is officially announced. The anime’s staff confirmed the news on Friday, August 30, 2024, through a new promotional video and trailer. Furthermore, the staff provided information about the anime’s theme songs and the artists behind them.

The Natsume’s Book of Friends season 7 team hosted a unique livestream event called Natsume’s Book of Friends Urushi ~Summer Banquet on YouTube. This occasion provided a space for the staff to unveil a fresh trailer and visuals for the show while also engaging with the fans.
The broadcast and distribution information for the series has arrived, according to which Natsume’s Book of Friends season 7 will broadcast on television, fans can stream the slice-of-life series on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
Release Date
Natsume’s Book of Friends is scheduled for release on October 7, 2024. Shuka will produce season 7 of Natsume’s Book of Friends, continuing the storyline from the previous season that aired from April 2017 to June 2017 with 11 episodes.
A year later, the franchise released an Ephemeral Bond movie, which served as a bridge between the sixth and seventh seasons, providing additional depth to the characters and their relationships. Notably, the series itself is an adaptation of Yuki Midorikawa’s manga series.
The most recent trailer showcases Takashi Natsume, Madara (Nyanko-sensei), and other key characters set to appear in the upcoming season 7 of Natsume’s Book of Friends. The PV captures the core of the franchise by showcasing a variety of characters and their appeal.
The short video also provides a glimpse of the anime’s opening and ending songs. Hinata Kashiwagi sings the opening theme song, Alca, and Toshiki Kondo performs the ending theme, Komari Warai, translated to “Troubled Laugh” in English.

Aside from the trailer, the official staff has unveiled a key visual for Natsume’s Book of Friends season 7.
The illustration depicts the protagonist, Takashi Natsume, and his partner, Madara (Nyanko-Sensei), walking through autumn leaves on the bridge.
Cast Returns
Hiroshi Kamiya returns as Takashi Natsume, with Kazuhiko Inoe as Nyanko-Sensei (Madara). Takahiro Omori returns to the franchise as chief director at Studio Shuka. Hideki Ito directs Natsume’s Book of Friends season 7, with Sadayuki Murai overseeing the scripts. Akira Takata returns to design the characters, while the emotional depth of the series is enhanced by the music composed by Makoto Yoshimori, with NAS as the music producer.
Translation: The seventh season of the anime “#夏目友人帳” “Natsume’s Book of Friends Urushi” will be available on Netflix from October 8th!
