‘Natsume’s Book of Friends’ anime turns 15 in a few days. Fans have loved this show for blending the exorcist and yokai subjects with a simpler presentation. With six seasons and 74 episodes, it is one of the longest-running shoujo series. The last season came in 2017, but we still got more of it after that.
Two movies – ‘Ephemeral Bond’ and ‘The Waking Rock and the Strange Visitor’ came in 2018 and 2021 respectively. Since the manga is still ongoing, it was strange that a new anime season was not announced. The wait is over now.
On Saturday, the official website for the anime ‘Natsume’s Book of Friends’ announced that a seventh season, titled ‘Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi’ has been greenlit. It also released a video and a visual celebrating the 15th anniversary of the anime.
The video shows a few moments from all six seasons running from 2008 to 2017. After that, it displays the newly released celebratory visual and the official logo for the seventh season.
In the end, the staff members were also revealed and the main members are returning from the previous installments.
