“Do this, and it’s over.” With these words, Kurama allowed Naruto to take on a form that would undoubtedly result in his death.
In the latest chapter of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, the situation is dire. From Boruto’s suicide threat to Naruto actually taking on a new form that might kill him, when facing an opponent as powerful as Isshiki Otsutsuki, both father and son are left with no other choice.
Despite the plan working, their power still falls miserably short in front of Isshiki. No matter how knowledgeable they are about his plans, without the strength to act upon it, the end of the world is imminent. However, how can Naruto let that happen?
As always, Naruto Uzumaki is here to save the day. Unfortunately, the victory won’t be sweet this time. (Word of advice – get your tissues ready for the next chapter)
1. Naruto’s New Nine-Tail’s Form
Naruto is determined to die if it means that he can protect his village and family.
In fact, he was prepared to die from the moment he decided to become a Hokage. This sentence had our hearts racing for a second; however, Kurama’s somber words immediately stilled them.
Apparently, Naruto’s 700+ episodes fell short in showing us the full extent of his powers as an entirely new Nine-Tails form was unveiled in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 51.
Kurama revealed that Naruto unknowingly possessed an extremely powerful Jinchuriki transformation all along. However, tapping into this power would spell both of their deaths.
This tragic result was one of the main reasons why Kurama had hidden this information from Naruto, and he only revealed it now due to the absolute lack of options to choose from.
Facing Isshiki, Naruto soothed both Boruto and the readers’ hearts by proclaiming that he was the Seventh Hokage, and there was no way he would be defeated that easily.
After this, the mood turned electric as Naruto transformed into one of his most majestic Nine-Tails forms yet.
He sported a flowing chakra coat with a spiral at its center and long tails stretching from the back.
Even his features turned fox-like, as black markings coated his face with fox ears sprouting out. As Kurama and Naruto become one, even Isshiki and Sasuke were left stunned.
With tremendous amounts of chakra emanating out of him, without doubt, Naruto is at the peak of his glory. However, this peak won’t last long, and the fall will be twice as hard.
2. Is Naruto’s Death Certain?
With a never-before-seen Nine-Tails form, its power is bound to be devastating, given its price. Kurama has already made it clear that Naruto’s death is imminent after using it, and now, we wait as the seconds tick by.
The excitement of the new form’s debut has been overshadowed by the tragic ending Naruto might face, and fans are wondering whether any miracle or plot armor (anything works) will come to his aid.
Naruto’s death is not certain, and he will not die by Isshiki’s hands. In the first chapter of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, it was heavily implied that the Hokage would suffer defeat at the hands of Kawaki.
This means that the time for Naruto to die has not yet come, and this seemingly disastrous situation might even prove to be beneficial to him.
Instead of seeing our beloved character die, perhaps this power-up will add a new skill in Naruto’s arsenal and result in Isshiki’s death. And the world will become peaceful again. Hah, I wish.
3. Can Naruto Defeat Isshiki With His New Form?
Remember how it took Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, and Obito to finally put an end to Kaguya? Well, as it turns out, Isshiki is even stronger than her, if not equal.
Chapter 51 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has laid the Otsutsuki’s plan bare for the readers to see. Isshiki Otsutsuki seeks to grow the Divine Chakra Fruit, and Boruto and Kawaki are integral to his plot.
As the Seventh Hokage and Boruto’s father, Naruto will definitely not sit and watch as his son dies and the planet is destroyed.
Unfortunately, his opponent, this time, is just too strong. Despite growing up to become even more powerful, Sasuke and Naruto are not a match for Isshiki; that is until the latter unleashes his “final form.”
With a new Nine-Tails form that envelopes him with waves of chakra, Naruto’s power shocks even the Otsutsuki. Unfortunately, even now, the chances of him defeating Isshiki are slim.
Kaguya and Isshiki are Otsutsuki’s and have been shown to be stronger than the Ten-Tails. Hell, they even dare to transform it into a tree to fulfill their goals. On the other hand, Kurama is not a match for the Ten-Tails, as proven during the war.
This means that unless and until this new form of Naruto can surpass the most powerful tailed beast, defeating Isshiki is going to be very difficult.
There is also another possibility of this form acting as a sealing jutsu to entrap the Otsutsuki, but it seems unlikely.
In the end, fans are just hoping for something good to come out of Naruto’s new Nine-Tails form debut to make his supposed death meaningful.
