The previously announced anime film ‘Kimi no Iro’ follows Totsuko, a high school girl who can see the “colors” of the emotions in people’s hearts, and to keep her friends and family away from dark feelings.
One day at an antique bookshop in the corner of town, she meets a beautiful woman with an incredibly beautiful color and a music-loving boy trying to put together a band.
According to TOHO’s official Twitter account, Kimi no Iro (Your Colour), a new anime feature film by Science Saruta and director Naoko Yamada, will now be released in 2024.
Originally, the upcoming anime film ‘Kimi no Iro’ was scheduled to release in the fall of this year, but due to some reason, the release has been pushed back.

Naoko Yamada is one of the most notable female directors in the anime industry, and her recognition is well deserved. Beginning as a filmmaker with genre works such as K-On!, A Silent Voice, Tamako Love Story, and many more.
Yamada is consistently able to elevate even conventional premises through attention to detail and a unique focus on the subtleties of character animation.
While the reason for the delay wasn’t disclosed, I believe it was a wise move not to hurry a film that deals with such serious and emotional topics.
Furthermore, with such a talented crew that has worked on some of the most well-known films, ‘Kimi no Iro’ seems to be another movie that will leave us in tears.
About Kimi no Iro
