After a difficult meeting at another company, Shinozaki is exhausted on the walk back to the office with Katase. On the way, the two spot and stare at a claw machine with plushies that look like both of them. Desperate to make Katase happy, Shinozaki offers to catch the plushies.

Putting one coin in after the other, he eventually catches both plushies in one go and gives them to his senpai. A representation of both of them, it only broadens Katase’s imagination at home.

3. Recap of Episode 3

Yamagishi Yuusuke, another fresher at the company, walks in, asking around for Akina, and Shinozaki guides him to the manager. While he complains about it being another dull week, Shinozaki still has Katase to lighten it up and keep everything lively.

Akina shows up out of nowhere, invites Shinozaki to have lunch with him, and talks about Katase and how excited she was when he first joined. Hearing a cute voice behind him, he finds out that Katase is eavesdropping from the booth behind.

The following day they have a meeting at a different company, and the two walk back together. They get distracted by a claw machine with an extensive collection of plushies, eerily similar to Shinozaki and Katase. He offers to try and catch a plushie for her and starts his attempt.

Desperate to see Katase’s smile whenever he gets close to catching one, he tries again and again until he finally catches both plushies in one go. The next day, the office members are asked for their opinion on a meowtaro dating sim game which immediately makes everyone uncomfortable.

She asks them about romantic experiences for the game’s storyline, but none of them have ever had a single one. Hayakawa recalls the day she first met Akina on the day of the interview, and they all begin freaking out about how cute the story was.

Katase continues to freak out and think weirdly about the two plushies she took home, picturing them as representations of her and Shinozaki. Even adding a necktie to Shinozaki’s plushie, she brings them closer together with a cheeky smile.

My Tiny Senpai is a Summer 2023 anime by Studio project No.9. It is inspired by a manga series by the same name that is authored and illustrated by Saisō. The anime was first announced in Fall 2022 and premiered in July 2023.

Shinozaki, an office worker, has just received a new job offer, but work turns out to be very tough. He struggles at his workplace until a very strict yet cute senpai takes him under her wing. Katase knows the ins and outs of the job, but Shinozaki hopes that his senpai will pay him more attention outside of work matters too.
