My Next Life as a Villainess: Who does Katarina fall in love with?

Katarina’s life takes a crazy turn when she remembers her past life and realizes she’s stuck in an Otome game as the main villain. In every scenario, she would meet a brutal end, whether it is being kicked out or biting the dust.

Armed with her knowledge of the game, she’s determined to change her fate, no matter what it takes. And when it comes to romance, she’s spoiled for choice. I’ve been waiting eagerly to see who Katarina ends up with.

Both Prince Geordo and Keith have confessed their feelings to Katarina in My Next Life as a Villainess, and she’s finally clued in. She hasn’t made any decisions yet, and currently, in the light novel, Geordo, Keith, and Maria are the front-runners.

But don’t count out the other characters just yet. They might make their moves too! Maybe the other two boys will swoop in with their shots at Katarina, just like Keith and Geordo did. Who knows? The drama’s far from over.

Oh, and let’s not forget Katarina’s true love: sweets. Seriously, that girl is in a committed relationship with all things sugary.

SPOILERS AHEAD! This page contains spoilers from My Next Life as a Villainess (Manga).

Who are Katarina’s love interests?

Katarina’s got herself a lot of attention. We’re talking multiple love interests, boys and girls!

I.Geordo Stuart

We got ourselves a prince here, and he’s got a pretty crazy backstory. So, get this: he accidentally trips poor Katarina, and she ends up hurting herself. Katarina takes advantage of the situation to hog this prince all to herself.

In the good ending of Fortune Lover, he ditches Katarina, exiles her, and gets hitched to the game’s protagonist. In the bad ending, he kills Katarina and abandons the heroine because of guilt. Yikes!

Thanks to Katarina’s efforts to change her fate, Geordo starts developing real feelings for her. Prince charming here practically wears his heart on his sleeve, but Bakarina’s as dense as a brick wall when it comes to lovey-dovey stuff.

Poor guy’s left frustrated and disappointed, but Katarina’s obliviousness is pretty hilarious.

II. Maria Campbell

Maria is a girl who had it rough as the target of Katarina’s bullying in the game Fortune Lover. As Katarina starts turning over a new leaf and becoming all nice and charismatic, Maria falls head over heels for her.

Maria’s love for Katarina opens up a new route in the game, and she gets her own storyline. She possesses rare light magic, which is a big deal for someone who’s just a regular commoner. But unfortunately, that uniqueness made her an outcast during her childhood.

Will Maria’s feelings ever be reciprocated? Only time will tell. But you can count on Katarina to keep us guessing with her cluelessness.

III. Keith Claes

Keith is Katarina’s adoptive brother and a total prodigy when it comes to earth magic. In the game, things were a bit rough between Keith and Katarina. She thought he was some illegitimate child of their dad, so she gave him a hard time.

In the good ending, Keith exiles Katarina and turns his back on his womanizing ways to be with the game’s protagonist. The bad ending is a total nightmare. Keith loses it, kills his sister in a fit of rage, and then disappears.

Katarina is not going to let that happen. She wants to avoid those terrible endings, so she goes out of her way to be a good sister to Keith.

Despite being her brother, Keith starts developing feelings for Katarina. Things get a little complicated in the love department, and he even confesses to her. I’m not a fan of incest, so I hope this stays as just drama and doesn’t develop any further.

IV. Alan Stuart

Alan is Geordo’s brother and Mary’s fiance. This guy’s got a severe case of jealousy toward his more talented twin bro, which turned him into a bit of an introvert.

Alan’s got a little crush on Katarina but is totally clueless about it. It’s all thanks to Mary and her meddling ways. That girl can’t keep her nose out of Alan’s business.

In the game, Katarina doesn’t even appear in Alan’s path. Mary takes on the role of the rival character instead. But boy, oh boy, does Alan get ticked off when Katarina starts becoming besties with Mary. He feels ignored, and that’s when the competition kicks in.

Over time, things start to change. Alan and Katarina become friends, and even his relationship with his brother starts to improve.

V. Mary Hunt

Mary fell head over heels for Alan in the game when he praised her garden. So, now that Katarina beat him to the punch with the compliments, she might be falling for Katarina instead.

Mary has better fates than Katarina in the game. In the bad ending, she ends up sticking with Alan, and in the good one, she peacefully steps back from being his fiancé.

Katarina has a way of turning things upside down. Who would’ve thought that a simple garden praise could lead to a potential romance?

VI. Nicol Ascart

Nicol is the childhood friend of Geordo and Alan. His smile can charm just about anyone, guys and gals alike.

In the game, Nicol’s main rival is his younger sister, Sophia Ascart. Their relationship takes center stage in his path while Katarina remains on the sidelines.

Despite all that protective brother stuff, Nicol seems to have developed a little crush on Katarina. She got him to open up and share his feelings which made a good impression.

Details about Nicol’s story in the game are hard to come by, as Katarina never played his route.

VII. Sophia Ascart

Sophia was considered cursed because of her striking silver hair and red eyes. Poor girl had to endure a life of isolation until she crossed paths with Katarina.

Katarina’s genuine compliments and her offer to be Sophia’s friend worked like magic. It turns out Sophia is actually the reincarnation of Katarina’s best friend from her previous life, Atsuko Sasaki.

Friends to lovers might be a classic trope, but honestly, I wish they could just stay best friends forever.
