In the fourth episode of My Master Has No Tail, we get to learn more about Shirara Tsubaki and the family that she comes from. In the episode, a family member kidnaps her so that she quits rakugo, but Bunko is able to rescue her.

Episode 5 Speculation
The next episode will be titled ‘Mejiro, Hamachi, Buri.’ We could learn more about the Kurokoma family in the next episode and more about Shirara’s backstory.
Although initially, they weren’t getting along, Mameda and Shirara have developed a quick bond which could develop even further in the coming episode.

Episode 4 Recap
The episode begins with Mameda and Bunko practicing Osaka dialect. Bunko tells her she’s not ready for rakugo yet. At the entertainment hall, Bunko takes Mameda to watch Shirara Tsubaki perform.
Mameda is impressed with how she turns a sleepy crowd into an entertained one. Bunko compliments Shirara, but she ignores her and walks away, angering Mameda.
Bunko realizes something and tells Mameda to go to the fish market. At the fish market, Mameda runs into Shirara. Shirara tells Mameda not to act chummy with her master around her.
Shirara says she has a master named Byakudanji of her own, but she can’t meet him right now, which causes her to feel sad around Mameda and Bunko. We see a visual of her master being locked up.
Mameda recognizes that she has the Osaka dialect and understands Bunko’s motives for sending her to the fish market. She happily informs Shirara that she wants to perform a cool act like her, which makes Shirara blush.
Mameda practices with Bunko, who tells her that she’s been working her rhythm. She says she’s been practicing with Shirara at the market every day. Bunko tells her to be on her guard since Shirara is a human.
The next day, the entertainment hall is a mess, and Shirara is missing. Matsu tells Bunko and Mameda that Shirara is quitting rakugo. The Kurokoma family had arrived earlier to pick Shirara up.
The head of the gang, Kurokoma, is revealed to be the mysterious man from the previous episode. He knocked Shirara out and took her.
The others told him not to be violent, but he knocked one of those members out along with Sakijiro. Mameda wants to rescue her, but before Bunko advises her not to, she has already left. She switches into her Tanuki form and finds the place.
Mameda confronts Kurokoma, who asks her why she’s there and states she’s here to perform rakugo. Mameda starts to perform and manages to entertain the crowd successfully. Kurokoma asks the rest to snap out of it and throw her out.
Bunko arrives and greets Kurokoma. She tells them she’ll perform rakugo for them with no charge; instead, if he smiles, he’ll return shirara to her. If he doesn’t smile, she’ll give Mameda to him.
She begins narrating a story of a violent boy named Rakuda and manages to make him smile. They successfully get Shirara back. Mameda apologizes to Bunko for acting impulsively. She tells Mameda she’s got her own abilities now too.

My Master Has No Tail is a manga by TNSK which is serialized in Kodansha’s good! Afternoon magazine from January 2019.
The manga features Mameda, a shape-shifting tanuki, who wants to learn the art of rakugo or comic storytelling. She sought out Bunko to be her master.
Yet, Bunko has no intention to have an apprentice. After lots of mishaps, Mameda is taken in and needs to prepare for going through the tough path of being an artist.
