The twelfth episode of My Master Has No Tail showed Mameda struggling to get Utaroku’s attention after instantly being denied by him. We also got to see him perform and entertain a noisy crowd, despite Heibei interfering with his act.

Episode 13 Speculation
The next episode will be titled “You Taught Me Everything, Master.” According to the preview, we might see Bunko and Mameda finally reuniting with each other. Judging by the episode title, Mameda will express her appreciation for everything Bunko taught her.
Since this is the series’ final episode, Mameda will face her final test by Utaroku as she fights to earn the Daikoukoutei name. She will likely succeed and remain as Bunko’s apprentice. However, Heibei seems to be planning something to take her down, which can prove to be a challenge.

Episode 12 Recap
Mameda runs into Utaroku, who mockingly tells her she has a foolish face. He then asks her to perform rakugo. In the middle of her performance, he claps for her and calls her interesting but tells her that she has failed.
Utaroku leaves, and Mameda chases after him to a brothel. She volunteers to do chores for them while sneaking letters into his room to get his attention back. Utaroku reflects on Daikoukoutei and his intense personality which he feels Mameda lacks.
A guest, Heibei, asks Mameda to perform. When she does, people ignore her, but she keeps going. It turns out that Heibei, who asked her to perform, was the same one Bunko almost attacked and who her master humiliated. Mameda is about to give up but remembers Bunko’s words to keep going.
She begins her performance again, louder this time, and starts entertaining the crowd. Heibei distracts the group, stealing their attention, and Utaroku asks Mameda for him to take over. He instantly steals and captivates the crowd as he plays a woman but is then worn out.
Utaroku tells Mameda that he has exciting characters inside him and wants to see the same from her. He agrees to give her one more chance. Bunko meets Enshi and thanks her for training Mameda – Enshi is pleasantly surprised. Bunko wishes to pass her teachings, and Bunchou’s, to Mameda. Heibei plans something to take Mameda down.
About My Master Has No Tail
My Master Has No Tail is a manga by TNSK which is serialized in Kodansha’s good! Afternoon magazine from January 2019.
The manga features Mameda, a shape-shifting tanuki, who wants to learn the art of rakugo or comic storytelling. She sought out Bunko to be her master.
Yet, Bunko has no intention to have an apprentice. After lots of mishaps, Mameda is taken in and needs to prepare for going through the tough path of being an artist.
