There are tons of isekai anime where the protagonist tries their best to save the world. In My Isekai Life, the protagonist just wants an easy way to die.
Before you think it’s too negative, try working for a black company day in and day out. We’ll see how much energy you have left to save another world when you don’t even have time to feed yourself.
The My Isekai Life light novel by Shinkoshoto will inspire an anime in 2022. A brand-new trailer has also been revealed for the upcoming series:
The trailer shows Yuji, the protagonist, fighting in the isekai world. Just because he wants an easy way out doesn’t mean he will get it. Yet, I think having a hero who grumbles all the time about his responsibilities will be quite refreshing.
Does the anime have tons of action scenes? Yes. Does the hero have any idea about what he’s doing? Nope. Still, you can bet Yuji looks cool while busting the monsters.
The three main cast members of the anime have also been revealed:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Yuji | Chiaki Kobayashi | Louis James Moriarty (Moriarty the Patriot) |
Dryad | Azumi Waki | Hinata Tachibana (Tokyo Revengers) |
Proudwolf | Wataru Takagi | Wataru Takagi (Detective Conan ) |
Studio REVOROOT is animating the series. It has previously animated Babylon, Deep Blue Song, and others.
This might look like another same old story in an isekai-saturated market, but Yuji’s cynicism is what saves the deal. His constant criticism of the new world where he is reincarnated is what might make My Isekai Life the next Saiki K.
